Shadow of Me…

Contours molded like a replica designed to follow me.

Slanted and cast on luscious greens through radiant sunbeams on a summer’s day

Undefined representation, a muted significance

Defining the shadow of me

***

Like the umbra that rests at the center of my bust, you are destined to follow me

Resting on river stones as tendrils of water cascade at spring’s dawn

Undesired representation, a fitting observation

Defining the shadow of me

***

Walking in tow and a constant companion with habits that shape and follow me

Buttressed by roots deeply entrenched as the cool earth rests at autumn’s birth

Undesired representation, a solid impression

Defining the shadow of me.

***

At times, dark gray and almost black are the reflections of silhouettes that follow me

Waiting in stillness for the swift passage of a dreary winter

Undesired representation, a concrete conviction

Defining the shadow of me
