This process was stalled, denied, maligned, and almost derailed, but here we are, just as we predicted we would be. Joseph R. Biden will be the next President of the United States.

You shamelessly attempted to hijack this momentous victory, this remarkable instance when for the first time, our nation will come to know a woman, yes, a woman of color for that matter, as Vice President of the U.S.A. You lost.

Decency won, love won, respect won, humility won, we the people won.

Take your hate, your lies, and usher them out of our lives like your co-conspirators deemed it necessary to guide “a deplorable” down the steps of our Capitol. We’ve had to endure your beatings and brutality all while your knees have stayed fixed on our necks.

What delights us now are the victories. Our brothers and sisters succeeded way down yonder in the South and stood firmly to cast ballots amid intimidation and detraction. I feel sorry for those who have been veiled by your delusions, your negativity, and fear-mongering. I pray for all those who foolishly gave chase to your contorted lies by allowing themselves to be utilized as conduits for mayhem and destruction.

We cannot just sweep these atrocities under the rug. We cannot just slap wrists anymore or obscure vision; we can’t feign blindness. We see you and your wicked ways.

Where sticks broke my bones when I stood for freedom, now the stench of hypocrisy remains; selfies, dainty escorts descending those steps, all those feeble attempts at restraint. Why? I know the answer- my life, my rights, my existence mean nothing to you. Guess what? I am here, and I will stay here because this is where love resides; this is where you motivated me enough to pivot and look you in the eye and shout yes, I have made America great again.
